The Role We are seeking an experienced **Landscape Architecture Manager** to lead landscape architecture, public realm, planting, outdoor environment, and landscape development activities from concept through detailed design, construction, and handover. The successful candidate will provide creative and technical leadership, manage landscape design teams and consultants, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, and ensure landscape solutions meet client expectations, environmental objectives, regulatory requirements, budgets, schedules, and long-term operational needs. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement landscape architecture strategies aligned with project vision and development objectives. * Lead landscape architecture activities from feasibility and concept design through detailed design, construction, and handover. * Manage landscape architects, designers, horticultural specialists, consultants, and technical teams. * Establish landscape design briefs, standards, criteria, specifications, and deliverable requirements. * Translate client requirements, site characteristics, environmental objectives, and user needs into effective landscape solutions. * Lead landscape concepts, masterplans, public-realm strategies, planting concepts, and outdoor-space design. * Develop and review landscape layouts, grading concepts, planting plans, hardscape designs, irrigation strategies, and site details. * Coordinate landscape design with architecture, civil, structural, infrastructure, utilities, lighting, drainage, and environmental disciplines. * Manage interfaces between landscape areas, buildings, roads, pedestrian networks, public spaces, and utilities. * Review site analysis, topography, climate, soil, water availability, vegetation, microclimate, and environmental constraints. * Develop landscape solutions appropriate to local climate, ecological conditions, and long-term maintenance requirements. * Review planting palettes, tree selections, irrigation requirements, soil specifications, and horticultural strategies. * Promote water-efficient, climate-resilient, and low-maintenance landscape solutions. * Develop sustainable landscape strategies incorporating native and suitable adaptive plant species where appropriate. * Review hardscape materials, paving, walls, furniture, shade structures, water features, and outdoor amenities. * Coordinate landscape lighting, signage, wayfinding, irrigation, drainage, and site furniture requirements. * Review grading and drainage solutions to ensure landscape areas function effectively and safely. * Manage landscape design standards, material libraries, planting schedules, specifications, and technical details. * Lead design workshops, coordination meetings, client presentations, and design reviews. * Manage landscape design milestones, submissions, approvals, and deliverables. * Establish landscape design quality-assurance and quality-control procedures. * Conduct design audits and interdisciplinary coordination reviews. * Identify landscape design risks, conflicts, constructability issues, and operational constraints. * Manage design changes, requests for information, technical queries, and client comments. * Manage external landscape architecture consultants, specialist designers, nurseries, suppliers, and landscape contractors. * Define consultant scopes, deliverables, schedules, responsibilities, and performance requirements. * Monitor consultant performance against quality, cost, schedule, and design objectives. * Support tendering and procurement through landscape specifications, bills of quantities, drawings, and technical documentation. * Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material samples, planting proposals, and technical submittals. * Evaluate plant materials, hardscape samples, mock-ups, and landscape construction details. * Provide technical support during landscape construction, installation, and establishment. * Conduct site inspections to verify implementation of approved landscape designs. * Monitor planting, irrigation, grading, hardscape, drainage, and external works quality. * Review proposed substitutions and assess their impact on design intent, environmental performance, quality, cost, and maintenance. * Support value engineering and landscape cost optimization. * Coordinate procurement and availability of plants, materials, irrigation equipment, site furniture, and specialist landscape elements. * Manage long-lead landscape materials and planting requirements. * Support landscape maintenance planning, establishment periods, and post-completion requirements. * Promote biodiversity, ecological enhancement, habitat creation, and responsible landscape management. * Integrate stormwater management, water conservation, soil improvement, and climate resilience into landscape design. * Support green infrastructure, sustainable drainage, urban cooling, shading, and heat-mitigation strategies. * Coordinate landscape requirements with sustainability and environmental objectives. * Manage landscape design schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies. * Prepare design reports, presentations, progress updates, technical assessments, and recommendations. * Coordinate authority approvals, permits, and technical submissions where required. * Maintain landscape drawings, specifications, plant schedules, approval logs, design registers, and project records. * Support testing, planting establishment, irrigation commissioning, snagging, and landscape handover. * Mentor landscape architects, designers, and junior technical staff. * Promote design excellence, environmental responsibility, innovation, quality, collaboration, and continuous Ideal Candidate The successful candidate should have strong experience in **landscape architecture, landscape design, public realm, urban design, horticulture, master planning, or large-scale development projects**, preferably within major international, residential, hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, or infrastructure developments. The candidate should demonstrate: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline. * Significant professional experience in landscape architecture and design management. * Strong understanding of landscape planning, planting design, hardscape, grading, irrigation, drainage, and outdoor environments. * Experience leading landscape architecture teams and multidisciplinary design consultants. * Strong knowledge of plant selection, horticulture, soil requirements, irrigation, and landscape maintenance. * Experience designing landscapes for hot, dry, or challenging climatic conditions is highly desirable. * Experience coordinating landscape design with architecture, civil, structural, MEP, utilities, lighting, and environmental disciplines. * Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, materials, specifications, and technical documentation. * Experience managing landscape consultants, contractors, suppliers, nurseries, and specialist vendors. * Strong ability to review drawings, specifications, planting schedules, material samples, and technical submissions. * Experience with sustainable landscape design, water conservation, biodiversity, and climate resilience. * Strong project-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and technical interfaces. * Proficiency with CAD, BIM, GIS, visualization, and relevant landscape design software. * Professional landscape architecture registration or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. * Experience with major public-realm, resort, hospitality, urban, or master-planned developments is an advantage. * Strong commitment to design excellence, environmental responsibility, quality, functionality, and continuous improvement.
