Longevity Partners is a global, independent sustainability partner to real estate parties, from investors and developers to occupiers. Founded in 2015, we bring together technical depth, financial expertise, insight into laws and regulations and digital tools to create measurable impact, from strategy development to on-the-ground execution. Our team of 100+ sustainability professionals works across the full asset lifecycle, from acquisition through to exit, on projects spanning more than 45 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. We combine global insight with deep regional expertise, helping clients navigate local regulations and market dynamics to unlock value, reduce risk, and accelerate the transition to a resilient, sustainable future. About the Role We are recruiting a Senior Sustainability & Energy Consultant to join our fast-growing business. You will deliver energy, water, waste and carbon audits, building optimisation and wider technical sustainability services across our clients' standing portfolios, from building to portfolio scale. Alongside that, you will be capable of operating within multidisciplinary design teams on new build and major refurbishment projects, running BREEAM assessments and shaping decarbonisation, whole life carbon and circular economy strategy from concept design through to completion. We are as interested in candidates with a strong building design or building services background who have not yet specialised in energy auditing as we are in those who have come the other way. What You Will Do**Technical Delivery** * Analyse energy consumption data, identify trends, benchmark, and correlate with degree days. * Support the development of decarbonisation and resource efficiency roadmaps at asset level. * Conduct energy audits leading to the identification of energy conservation measures (ECM) and deep-retrofit energy interventions, and structure a financial investment business case. * Conduct waste, water, and sustainability audits, and support the team on ESG assessments. * Act as BREEAM Assessor or lead BREEAM adviser on new construction and refurbishment projects, managing the assessment from pre-assessment through design stage to post-construction, and coordinating evidence with the wider project team. * Work as an embedded member of multidisciplinary design teams, from concept design through to practical completion. * Advise on decarbonisation, whole life carbon (including embodied carbon and MPG) and circular economy at design stage, and translate that advice into specification and design decisions the team can act on. * Undertake energy modelling for new build and major refurbishment to test design options, inform passive design and fabric decisions, and demonstrate performance against BENG / NTA 8800 and client net zero targets. * Liaise with suppliers and MEP designers to develop conceptual HVAC design, and review design proposals against project energy and carbon targets. * Undertake dynamic simulation modelling with IES-VE or similar software across both new build design development and existing building optimisation. **Client & Strategy** * Prepare and present Energy and Sustainability strategies to clients in technical and financial terms. * Represent Longevity in design team meetings, client project boards and workshops, and hold the technical line on sustainability targets through design development and value engineering. * Work as an active team member to deliver ambitious projects, such as global Net Positive- or Science Based Targets implementation roadmaps. * Research and evaluate new technologies, policies, and services in the real-asset and construction sector. **Team Leadership & Thought Leadership** * Manage a team of consultants and analysts delivering BREEAM, design stage and Building Optimisation projects in the Netherlands and across Europe. * Take responsibility for the quality of technical work leaving the office, in line with our ISO9001 quality management system. * Create thought leadership pieces for communication, to enhance client offerings and ensure the team remains at the forefront of emerging thinking. * Maintain flexibility, including the ability to travel throughout the NL and internationally. What You'll Need * **Education:** Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, building physics, energy, architecture or a related built environment discipline, or equivalent work experience. * **Experience:** At least 5 years of experience in low-carbon building design, building services, sustainable design consultancy, energy audits, energy performance contracting or building optimisation. Demonstrable experience working as part of a design team on live construction projects, ideally taking projects from concept design through to completion. * **Design & BREEAM:** Significant BREEAM experience, ideally holding a BREEAM International or BREEAM-NL New Construction Assessor licence, or able to obtain one shortly after joining. You should be comfortable running a BREEAM project end to end, and equally comfortable making the case for decarbonisation, whole life carbon and circular economy around a design team table. * **Energy Modelling:** Experience of building energy modelling for new build and refurbishment using IES-VE or an equivalent such as Energy Plus, TAS or VABI. Familiarity with BENG and NTA 8800 methodology is a strong advantage. * **Technical Skills & Tools:** Track record of successfully improving and implementing new knowledge or processes that benefit the entire service line or company. * **Communication:** Able to speak fluently in Dutch and English and communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations. * **Project Management:** Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills; working in a rigorous manner to deliver accurate, high-quality, engaging, and client-ready outputs whilst meeting profitability targets. * **Mindset:** Passionate about tackling climate change and the wider sustainability agenda, able to challenge, provide insights, forecast future trends, and articulate the value of sustainability to businesses. **Desirable** * Experience delivering M&V programmes in line with Paris Proof, IPMVP, ISO 50001 projects, or LCA; experience with CDP, GRESB, CRREM, GRI, PRI, IFC, ESOS, Science Based Targets, or Net Positive approaches; knowledge of European legislation on building performance; Command of a third language.
