**Job Description**

**About the role**

Advai is looking for a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to build and evolve the platform behind Advai's AI assurance products. You will combine strong Python engineering with practical Kubernetes, Helm and Docker experience to deliver secure, reliable services and deployment foundations.

This senior individual-contributor role will shape platform technical direction, lead solution design and strengthen security-by-design. You will partner closely with product and operations teams, bringing Python expertise that complements the team's C# experience and helps us deliver the platform end to end.

**What You Will Be Doing**

·      Design, build, test and maintain production Python services, APIs and platform tooling.

·      Build, package and operate containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.

·      Improve CI/CD, deployment automation, observability, reliability and day-to-day operational practices.

·      Lead solution design from product and operational needs, defining service boundaries, API and integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.

·      Document architecture decisions and explain trade-offs; guide implementation through design and code reviews and support other engineers.

·      Use threat modelling and security-by-design to identify risks early, agree proportionate controls and follow remediation through to delivery.

·      Work with product, operations and customer-facing teams to deliver maintainable platform capabilities.

**Requirements**

·      Significant experience designing, building and **supporting production software.**

·      Strong Python coding skills and sound software design and testing practices.

·      Practical experience with **Kubernetes, Helm and Docker** in development or production environments.

·      Experience building and operating APIs or distributed services, and diagnosing issues in production.

·      Experience shaping solutions from requirements, with a sound understanding of **service boundaries, integration patterns** and operational needs.

·      A strong grounding in **secure design** and the ability to identify, assess and help address risks throughout the software lifecycle.

·      Understanding of reliability, observability, availability, scalability and performance in production systems.

·      Clear communication, collaborative working and confidence providing technical guidance through reviews and day-to-day work.

**Nice to Have**

·      Experience with a cloud provider such as AWS. Cloud expertise is useful but is not required.

·      Practical security engineering or security architecture experience, such as architecture assurance, identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation or relevant security standards.

·      Experience in regulated, public-sector or financial-services environments.

·      Experience with C#/.NET, TypeScript/React, Terraform, or machine learning and AI systems.
