Senior Planner – Water / Civil Engineering **Location:** Bristol / South West **Salary:** Up to £85,000 per annum + Benefits Package **Sector:** Water / Civil Engineering / Infrastructure **Employer:** Main Contractor **Employment Type:** Permanent **Programme:** AMP8 Water Framework TWG Consulting is recruiting for an experienced **Senior Planner** to join an established main contractor delivering projects across a major **AMP8 water framework** in Bristol and the South West. Offering a salary of **up to £85,000 per annum plus additional benefits**, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a long-term pipeline of work across the water sector. You'll play a key role in the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects, working closely with Project Managers, commercial teams and operational staff to develop, manage and monitor construction programmes. We're looking for a Senior Planner with a strong civil engineering background who understands how projects are delivered on site and can provide practical planning support throughout the project lifecycle. The Role As Senior Planner, your responsibilities will include: * Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes for water and civil engineering projects. * Producing and managing programmes using **Primavera P6** and/or other recognised planning software. * Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to develop realistic construction sequences and methodologies. * Monitoring project progress against agreed programmes and identifying potential delays. * Undertaking critical path analysis and identifying programme risks and opportunities. * Producing progress reports, lookahead programmes and programme updates. * Supporting tender and pre-construction planning activities. * Working with commercial teams to assess the programme impact of variations and compensation events. * Supporting delay analysis, change management and programme recovery strategies. * Attending planning meetings with clients, subcontractors and project teams. * Ensuring programmes reflect project milestones, resources and contractual requirements. * Supporting and mentoring junior planners where required. About You We're looking for a Senior Planner with: * A strong **civil engineering or infrastructure background**. * Previous experience working for a **main contractor**. * Experience planning and programming construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. * Strong working knowledge of **Primavera P6**. * Experience within the **water sector** would be highly advantageous. * A good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery. * Knowledge of **NEC contracts**, including programme obligations and compensation events. * Experience with critical path analysis, progress monitoring and programme reporting. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with operational and commercial teams. * The confidence to challenge programmes, identify risks and provide practical solutions. * Experience across **water treatment works, wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, pumping stations, utilities or major civil engineering projects** would be particularly relevant.
