Arclin is seeking a strategic and hands-on Regional Truck Transportation Manager to lead truck transportation procurement, carrier management, daily execution, and performance improvement across a complex regional network. This role is accountable for approximately $50 million in annual truck freight spend and will balance safety, service, capacity, compliance, and cost while leading transportation operations personnel and building high-performing carrier partnerships.
**What You Will Lead**
* Own the regional truck transportation strategy and operating performance across dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, bulk/tanker, dedicated, intermodal drayage, and less-than-truckload transportation.
* Lead sourcing, bid events, rate negotiations, contracting, capacity planning, carrier onboarding, and network optimization for an approximately $50 million annual spend portfolio.
* Direct daily execution, including load scheduling, carrier tendering, booking, shipment tracking, delivery appointments, exception management, and service recovery.
* Lead and develop transportation coordinators, load planners, and freight tendering personnel with clear expectations, accountability, coaching, and succession planning.
* Build strategic relationships with core carriers and logistics providers; conduct business reviews and enforce contractual, service, safety, and compliance requirements.
* Partner with Plant Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Safety, and Compliance to support uninterrupted operations and customer commitments.
* Identify and deliver measurable savings through carrier optimization, route and mode improvements, utilization, market intelligence, and disciplined freight-cost management.
* Lead escalation and continuity planning for capacity constraints, weather, equipment shortages, service failures, and other transportation disruptions.
**Performance & Governance**
* Own KPI reporting and corrective actions for safety, on-time pickup and delivery, tender acceptance, carrier utilization, freight cost, load execution accuracy, claims, compliance, and customer service.
* Monitor carrier safety performance, CSA scores, insurance, and regulatory compliance; partner on incident investigations and corrective actions.
* Maintain audit-ready transportation documentation and support compliance with applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, environmental, and company requirements.
* Analyze transportation data and market conditions, identify risk and opportunity, and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
**What You Bring**
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* 3-5+ years of progressive experience in truck transportation, logistics operations, carrier management, or transportation procurement.
* Demonstrated experience managing a large, multi-mode truck freight portfolio and negotiating with carriers and logistics service providers.
* Proven people leadership experience in transportation execution, load planning, or freight tendering environments.
* Strong command of transportation economics, contracts, carrier performance, safety, compliance, financial analysis, and continuous improvement.
* Proficiency with transportation management systems, analytics, KPI reporting, and data-based decision-making.
* Strong executive communication, negotiation, problem-solving, prioritization, and cross-functional leadership skills.
**Preferred Credentials**
APICS/ASCM, CSCMP, Lean Six Sigma, transportation, or safety certification.
**Success in This Role**
Success will be measured by improved transportation safety, reliable capacity, on-time execution, carrier compliance, customer service, operating productivity, budget performance, data accuracy, and sustainable cost improvement across the approximately $50 million truck freight portfolio.
**Work Environment**
This position operates in a fast-paced combination of office and operational field environments and requires regional travel as needed. The role reports to Transportation or Regional Logistics leadership and may lead transportation operations coordinators, load planners, and freight tendering teams.
