**Job Description** **Job Description – Senior Electrical Design Engineer (MEP – Airport Projects)** **Experience:** 10 Years **Industry:** Construction **Qualification:** B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering **Position:** Senior Electrical Design Engineer – MEP **Job Summary** We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with around 10 years of experience in MEP design, preferably in airport infrastructure and large-scale building projects. The candidate should have strong expertise in electrical system design, engineering calculations, technical specifications, design coordination, preparation of drawings and compliance with relevant international standards. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop electrical design and engineering solutions for airport infrastructure and building projects. * Prepare and review electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams and detailed design drawings. * Design and coordinate power distribution systems, including HT, LT, transformers, switchgear and distribution panels. * Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop and short-circuit calculations. * Design lighting systems, emergency lighting and external lighting layouts. * Design and coordinate power distribution for airport terminal buildings, runway, taxiway and apron facilities. * Coordinate electrical systems with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other MEP disciplines. * Review technical specifications, BOQs, tender drawings and electrical design documents. * Design and coordinate backup power systems, including DG sets, UPS and emergency power supply. * Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders. * Review vendor drawings, technical submittals and equipment specifications. * Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable IEC, NFPA, IEEE and local authority standards. * Conduct site visits and resolve electrical design-related technical issues. * Support construction teams during installation, testing and commissioning activities. * Ensure design deliverables are completed as per project schedules and client requirements. **Technical Skills Required** * Electrical System Design and Engineering. * HT/LT Distribution Systems. * Transformer and Switchgear Design. * Power Load Calculations and Cable Sizing. * Lighting and Emergency Lighting Design. * Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems. * DG Sets, UPS and Backup Power Systems. * Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and Electrical Layouts. * AutoCAD and Revit MEP. * Electrical Design Calculations and Technical Specifications. * Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA and relevant electrical standards. **Airport Project Exposure** **Experience In The Following Airport Electrical Systems Is Preferred** * Airport Terminal Building Electrical Design. * Airside and Landside Electrical Infrastructure. * Runway and Taxiway Lighting Systems. * Apron and Aircraft Stand Lighting. * Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL). * Airport Substations and Power Distribution Networks. * Baggage Handling System (BHS) Power Requirements. * UPS and Emergency Power Systems. * External Lighting and High-Mast Lighting. * MEP Electrical Services for Airport Infrastructure. **Desired Candidate Profile** * Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Design / MEP Engineering. * Previous experience in airport projects or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred. * Strong knowledge of electrical design calculations and engineering drawings. * Hands-on experience in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. * Experience in design coordination with multidisciplinary teams. * Knowledge of international electrical standards and airport design requirements. * Strong technical, analytical and communication skills. * Ability to independently handle electrical design deliverables. **Preferred Candidate Background** Candidates from airport infrastructure, airport terminal construction, EPC contractors, MEP consultants and large-scale commercial infrastructure projects.
