We are looking for a Middle School Literature Teacher for a bilingual international school in Shanghai’s Pudong district. This position is available from the upcoming 2027/28 academic year in August 2027. Job Responsibilities * Teach literature to middle school students within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) * Develop students’ close reading, literary analysis, writing and oral communication skills * Guide students in exploring texts across genres, cultures and historical contexts * Plan inquiry-based units that connect literary study with MYP concepts and global contexts * Design assessments aligned with MYP criteria and provide constructive feedback * Differentiate instruction to support students with varied language abilities and learning needs * Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree * Recognised teaching qualification * Previous teaching experience in China * Strong knowledge of literature and the ability to develop students’ analytical and writing skills * Ability to plan and deliver lessons within the IB MYP framework * Strong communication, collaboration and classroom management skills **Benefits** Salary and Benefits * Monthly salary of RMB 25,000–35,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications * Monthly housing allowance of RMB 6,000 * Annual flight allowance * Full medical insurance * Summer and winter holidays * Public holidays
