**Harrison Clarke Group** operates at the intersection of **Search, Venture and Media**. Since 2017, the Group has helped Founders and Investors build talent-dense companies through **Harrison Clarke** (Startup Search), **ARKE** (Mission-Critical Workforce Solutions), **Harrison Clarke Ventures** (Venture Capital) and **Inside the Silicon Mind** (Founder and Investor Media Platform).
**Harrison Clarke** (Startup Search) is partnered with a Tier 1 VC-backed startup that's building the future of infrastructure engineering on their search for a **Vice President of Engineering**. Their mission is to do for infrastructure engineers what Cursor and Claude Code did for software developers: radically accelerate how they work by automating the tedious, repetitive, and high-cognitive-load parts of their job.
**The Role**
As **Vice President of Engineering** you will own the engineering organization end-to-end. You will set the technical vision, build and lead high-performing teams, and ensure the company ships reliable, high-leverage products that infrastructure engineers love and depend on.
This is a **hands-on leadership** role. You will remain close to the product and architecture while building the systems, processes, and culture that allow the team to scale.
**What You’ll Do**
* Own the engineering roadmap, technical strategy, and delivery of the core product
* Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional engineers and engineering managers
* Establish engineering excellence: architecture, reliability, security, developer experience, and operational rigor
* Partner closely with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market to translate ambitious product vision into shipped reality
* Build the operating cadence, metrics, and culture that support both speed and quality
**What We’re Looking For**
* Proven track record leading engineering organizations in high-growth startups or product-driven companies
* Deep technical background in infrastructure, developer tools, cloud platforms, or related systems (experience with infrastructure automation, observability, orchestration, or developer productivity tools is a strong plus)
* Experience building and scaling teams through hypergrowth
* Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical judgment
* Strong product sense and customer empathy
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively with founders, board members, and cross-functional leaders
**Why This Opportunity**
* Rare chance to shape a category-defining product in the infrastructure/developer productivity space
* Work with a Tier 1 investor syndicate and a founding team that has already demonstrated strong product and technical taste
* Significant equity upside and the opportunity to build something that meaningfully changes how infrastructure engineers work
* High autonomy and the mandate to build the engineering culture and organization the right way
