**About The Role**
NKD Firmengruppe is looking for a Junior Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our headquarters in Bindlach. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications, primarily in an enterprise environment. You will work with colleagues across IT and other business departments to understand requirements and deliver practical, dependable solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to existing systems as well as new development initiatives, while building your experience with modern tools, technologies, and development practices.
You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from clarifying requirements and estimating effort to testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation. You will also help coordinate interfaces and improve internal processes. As part of our continued development, you will contribute to identifying sensible, step-by-step opportunities to use artificial intelligence in our applications and workflows.
**Qualifications**
You have completed a degree in computer science, business informatics, application development, or a related field, or possess an equivalent vocational qualification. You bring professional experience in application development and have contributed to enterprise projects using current tools and technologies. Strong practical knowledge of relational databases and data modeling is essential.
You understand software architecture, interfaces, and distributed applications, and can apply that knowledge when developing and improving software. Experience in the Microsoft Azure environment, particularly with CI/CD and development processes, is highly valued. You communicate in German at C1 level and have good English skills. We are looking for a thoughtful and collaborative professional who approaches challenges with curiosity, takes ownership of assigned work, and is motivated to contribute to continuous improvement.
**Responsibilities**
Design, develop, and enhance software applications, primarily for enterprise use. Work with relevant business departments to clarify needs and contribute to the creation of clear, workable specifications. Estimate development effort and communicate considerations that may affect delivery. Test and commission developed systems, prepare accurate documentation, and provide ongoing maintenance.
You will update existing applications, investigate and resolve software defects, and identify opportunities to improve performance and reliability. Coordinate interfaces and collaborate with stakeholders to support effective connections between systems. In addition, contribute to the optimization of internal processes and help assess where artificial intelligence can be introduced in a meaningful and responsible way. Through these activities, you will help ensure that our software remains useful, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
**Benefits**
We offer a permanent position, generally with an open-ended employment contract, in an expanding international company. Flexible working time models, 30 days of annual leave, and a family-friendly approach support a healthy work-life balance. Employees can benefit from discounts on NKD products, attractive employee offers through partner programs, and access to sample sales.
Our headquarters also provides a company cafeteria with affordable, freshly prepared meals, as well as opportunities to join sports groups and yoga classes. The location is accessible by public transport and offers free employee parking. We support professional development through continuing education opportunities and help you plan for the future with an occupational pension scheme.
