Vice President of EngineeringRole Description We are seeking a visionary, technically accomplished, and strategically minded Vice President of Engineering to lead the organisation's engineering vision, technical strategy, innovation, and engineering operations. This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence, overseeing complex technical programmes, strengthening product and technology development capabilities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, secure, and reliable engineering solutions that support the organisation's long-term business objectives. The successful candidate will provide executive leadership across engineering functions, establish technical direction, optimise engineering resources, and drive continuous innovation. Working closely with the CEO, executive leadership, Product, Technology, and other business functions, the Vice President of Engineering will translate business priorities into effective engineering strategies, build high-performing technical teams, and ensure sustainable technological advancement. Key responsibilities include: * Develop and execute the overall engineering vision, strategic roadmap, technical standards, and long-term development priorities in alignment with corporate objectives. * Provide executive leadership and oversight across engineering operations, software development, systems architecture, infrastructure, research and development, and technical delivery. * Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of engineering products, platforms, systems, and solutions. * Establish engineering methodologies, technical governance frameworks, quality standards, and best practices to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and performance. * Drive technological innovation, research and development, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies to strengthen the organisation's competitive advantage. * Lead technical architecture and engineering decision-making, ensuring solutions meet current business requirements and future scalability needs. * Collaborate with Product, Technology, Operations, and business leadership to align engineering priorities with product strategy and commercial objectives. * Oversee engineering budgets, resource allocation, project portfolios, development schedules, and investment priorities to maximise operational effectiveness. * Establish engineering performance indicators, productivity metrics, quality assurance frameworks, and delivery standards to monitor team and project performance. * Identify and manage technical risks, system dependencies, development challenges, cybersecurity considerations, and operational vulnerabilities. * Promote engineering excellence through continuous integration, development automation, testing optimisation, and modern engineering practices. * Lead, mentor, and develop engineering directors, managers, technical leaders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. * Establish talent development, succession planning, technical training, and leadership development initiatives to strengthen engineering capabilities. * Build strategic relationships with technology partners, engineering vendors, research institutions, and external technical stakeholders. * Evaluate emerging technologies, engineering tools, development frameworks, and industry innovations to identify opportunities for business improvement. * Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, technical standards, information security policies, and organisational governance frameworks. * Prepare engineering performance reports, technical assessments, investment proposals, and strategic recommendations for executive management and the Board. * Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and sustainable engineering excellence. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. A Master's degree or MBA is an advantage. * Strong knowledge of engineering management, technical strategy, software development, systems architecture, product engineering, and engineering operations. * Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, system design, development methodologies, quality assurance, and technical governance. * Excellent strategic thinking, technical judgement, analytical, and complex problem-solving capabilities. * Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, artificial intelligence, data systems, and emerging technologies. * Ability to develop engineering roadmaps, establish technical priorities, and translate business objectives into scalable engineering solutions. * Strong financial and commercial acumen, including engineering budgets, resource planning, investment evaluation, and operational cost management. * Excellent executive leadership, organisational development, team management, and talent development capabilities. * Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to oversee complex technical programmes, manage competing priorities, and drive cross-functional collaboration. * Strong knowledge of engineering performance management, project governance, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies. * Proficiency in modern engineering tools, development platforms, project management systems, and technical reporting solutions. * High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, adaptability, and strategic vision. * A forward-thinking and innovation-driven executive committed to engineering excellence, technological advancement, business transformation, and sustainable organisational growth. *
