**Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Power Plant** **Email Id - recruitment.me@tractebel.engie.com** **While Applying - please mention in subjectline - Position and Project – Sumitomo and Location as Abu Dhabi** **Job description :** Execute and supervise electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, energization, and start-up activities for power plant electrical systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation. **Key responsibilities** * Prepare and execute electrical commissioning procedures, test plans, checklists, and energization schedules. * Coordinate electrical system handover, completion walkdowns, punch-list clearance, and readiness reviews. * Commission HV, MV, and LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, distribution panels, and auxiliary power systems. * Perform or supervise insulation resistance, winding resistance, contact resistance, transformer ratio, breaker timing, and other applicable electrical tests. * Verify protection relays, protection settings, interlocks, trip circuits, and electrical protection schemes. * Commission generators and associated excitation, synchronization, protection, and auxiliary systems within the assigned scope. * Test UPS systems, battery chargers, DC systems, emergency diesel generators, and essential power supplies. * Verify cable continuity, phase sequence, termination integrity, earthing, bonding, and electrical equipment identification. * Coordinate relay testing, functional checks, electrical interlock testing, and interface checks with the C&I team. * Prepare and execute energization procedures and switching plans in coordination with authorized personnel. * Support generator synchronization, load testing, load rejection tests, and reliability or performance testing, as applicable. * Troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate resolution with OEMs, EPC contractors, and operations personnel. * Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules, permit-to-work procedures, LOTO, and approved switching protocols. * Compile electrical test reports, commissioning records, energization certificates, and handover dossiers. **Qualifications and experience** * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. * Minimum 10 years of electrical commissioning experience in power plants, substations, or major industrial facilities. * Experience with generator systems, transformers, HV/MV/LV switchgear, protection systems, and auxiliary power distribution. * Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and applicable project specifications. * Experience with electrical testing equipment, relay testing, energization, synchronization, and commissioning safety requirements.
