**Job Title: Instrument & Control Commissioning Engineer - Power Plant** **Email Id - recruitment.me@tractebel.engie.com** **While Applying - please mention in subjectline - Position and Project – Sumitomo and Location as Abu Dhabi** **Job description :** Lead instrumentation, control, automation, and integrated system commissioning activities for power plant projects, ensuring that field instruments, control systems, protection logic, interlocks, and plant control functions operate in accordance with approved design requirements and operational philosophy. **Key responsibilities** * Develop and execute instrumentation and control commissioning procedures, test plans, checklists, and system handover documentation. * Coordinate completion walkdowns, loop folders, instrument calibration records, punch lists, and system readiness reviews. * Inspect and commission pressure, temperature, flow, level, vibration, and other field instruments. * Perform instrument calibration, loop checking, continuity checks, signal verification, and functional testing. * Commission Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and associated operator interfaces, as applicable. * Verify control logic, alarm settings, permissives, interlocks, trips, sequences, and cause-and-effect matrices. * Coordinate testing of burner management systems (BMS), turbine control systems, boiler/HRSG controls, and other package control systems, as applicable. * Perform input/output (I/O) checks, communication checks, network verification, and interface testing between DCS, PLCs, electrical protection systems, and package vendors. * Verify field instrumentation installation, impulse tubing, instrument air connections, control valves, actuators, and positioners. * Test control valves, motor-operated valves, pneumatic actuators, solenoid valves, and associated control functions. * Coordinate with OEMs, DCS vendors, electrical commissioning engineers, mechanical commissioning engineers, and operations teams. * Support plant start-up, turbine roll, synchronization interfaces, load testing, trip testing, and integrated plant functional testing. * Troubleshoot instrumentation, control logic, communication, and process control issues. * Ensure configuration control, approved software revisions, backup records, and cybersecurity requirements are followed, where applicable. * Prepare commissioning reports, loop folders, functional test records, and final handover dossiers. **Qualifications and experience** * Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems or a related discipline. * Minimum 10 years of relevant C&I commissioning experience in power plants or major industrial projects. * Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instrumentation, control valves, and integrated control systems. * Knowledge of control logic, cause-and-effect matrices, alarms, interlocks, trips, and plant start-up sequences. * Experience with gas turbine and combined-cycle plant control systems preferred. * Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary commissioning activities.
